11th Annual Retreat - Now Taking reservations. July 17 -18, 2010

Who? Nicotine Anonymous members and Guests.

What? A two day retreat focused on prayer and meditation.

Where? Joshua Tree Retreat Center at the Institute of Mental Physics.

When? 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 until 12:00 p.m. July 18, 2010.

Why? To Broaden our spiritual life within the framework of the Nicotine Anonymous Steps and Traditions.

How? In one-hour workshops on Saturday and Sunday, we will use meditation and prayer to study our relationship with the God of our understanding. On Saturday night, we’ll hold a Nicotine Anonymous meeting under the desert stars in the shadow of Joshua Tree National Park.

Cost? $100.00 - This includes Lunch and Dinner on Saturday, Breakfast on Sunday and Lodging for your overnight stay. ($130.00 if paid after May 31, 2010)

World Services Nicotine Anonymous - Call to Service

Nicotine Anonymous World Services is in need of Volunteers to take on the Following open positions:

Bylaws Coordinator

The bylaws coordinator compiles suggested changes to the Bylaws and presents them to the annual Conference.

Web Coordinator

This coordinator monitors our World services website for up to date information and ease of use and recommends improvements to the Chairperson as well as posting updates to the Current Events, Public Outreach and Archives sections of the website. Our Current Coordinator will be resigning in April 2011. This position requires technical expertise and we would like to identify a replacement early so you can work with our current webmaster for transition period.

Telephone and E-mail Servants

From the comfort of your own home, you can respond to telephone calls and e-mails from those who are just starting our on their path to freedom.

Translators

Help us spread the word by translating our literature, or step up to the plate when foreigh-speaking inquiries come to our attention.

Each year, The Southern California Intergroup of Nicotine Anonymous ( SCINA), hosts a Marathon Meeting. Members from across Southern California lead meetings, every hour, on the hour, for one whole day . This event is a wonderful opportunity to share our experience, strength and hope with other members across the region.

Join us at the Calvary Baptist Church for an hour or the whole day!

The 2009 Picnic is Coming up -

It will be held in Palms Park on September 20, 2009. Meeting will be at 10:00 am for election of SCINA officers for the coming year. A Potluck Picnic follows from 12:00pm until 4pm. Its for anyone in Nicotine Anonymous or family or friends. Bring something to share and come out and have some fun! Celebrate your smobriety with us!

Get Ready for the Annual SCINA Picnic!

Every September, on the third Sunday of the Month - SCINA holds a picnic for all the members of NicA who would like to attend. It is also the time of year where we elect out new officers for the comming year. This year it will be held in the Los Angeles Area - in Culver City at Palms Park.
